Prices below are in addition to your Home Phone Line. Should you exceed your Data Pack, you won't find us holding you back. Additional data costs only $2.95 per extra GB.

This option's perfect when broadband's all you need. You'll surf at full speed without having to pay for a home phone line. The only thing left to decide is how much data you'll zip through.

cost an additional $10 per month if your phone line and calling is not with Compass. When you reach your data limit, additional data is available
at $2.95 per extra 1GB (or part thereof). We’ll never
slow your Internet speed down and you can keep an eye on your data
usage online.

Getting connected
To get connected, you will need:
- To be in an area where high-speed Internet is available.
- To purchase a high-speed modem or router and, in some cases, line filters.
Modems
If you already have an ADSL modem, you can use this for Compass Broadband. If not, you can purchase a Dynalink RTA1320 modem through Compass for $69.95 including postage & handling. This modem will come preconfigured with your settings. Click here for a PDF brochure about this modem. If you supply your own modem you will need to configure the modem for Compass.
Connection options and costs
There is currently no connection fee for new connections unless you require a technician to visit. The table below will tell you which option applies to you.
Option A
Connection and Wiring - $199 |
Choose this option if you:
- have an alarm connected to your phone line
- have five or more jackpoints in use
- have Sky Digital connected to a jackpoint
- are told by Telecom that you need adjustments to your existing wiring
A service technician will visit your home to install a dedicated jackpoint for broadband. No line filters are required. |
Option B
Connection only - FREE |
Choose this option if none of the above conditions apply.
You will need to install line filters on all jackpoints in your home that are in use e.g. phones, fax machines, answering machines etc. You don't need a line filter on the jackpoint that your Compass modem will be connected to. You can purchase line filters from Compass for $15 each, or buy them from retailers such as Dick Smith Electronics. |
Please note that if you are buying a modem through Compass, the kit will include one line filter at no additional charge.
